2 private sessions, pro bono package:

connect to strength, create a vision, take action

You think you could do anything if you had more ...

time, money, or experience?

What was it you said you wanted for yourself yesterday, last month, last year?

What did you want when:

  • No one was depending on you?

  • Bills weren’t prioritized?

  • And the possibilities seemed limitless?

It’s time to wake up and finally realize your

potential
If you’d love to:

  • Identify & communicate healthy boundaries

  • Explore potential & set successful goals

  • Pursue a new career or job change

  • Explore tools for communication

  • Create something of your own

Then you need someone to help you:

  • Let go of limiting beliefs

  • Focus your intentions

  • Create goals customized to your time, needs, & desires

  • Keep you on track for success

Why?

Because success comes from a support system and accountability.

And sometimes, you can only get that when working with a professional.

I'm launching The Wake-up Call, a two-session pro bono package where we look at:

  • What’s working for you

  • Take stock in what you’ve accomplished

  • Identify strengths that grew from your experience

  • Explore what’s next

When we tap into what’s best inside us, we become less afraid of change and more open to what’s possible.

These two sessions are all about you. It’s your time to explore & identify where you are & where you want to be.

Wake Up!

You’d be surprised at what you can discover in 2 sessions.

Explore your potential!

Kate Chaney

For more than a decade, I’ve been helping women discover their midlife mojo by teaching them to flip their inner critic, connect to their youth at any age, celebrate their body, and build a life they fall in love with.

I certainly have not always felt good in my own skin. In fact, I believed that confidence was a gene I was missing. I spent most of my childhood and young adulthood feeling socially awkward and painfully shy, with the athletic finesse of a kitchen mop.

And the hair! I had curly hair, but not Elisabeth Shue circa 1984, but more like...Gilda Radner. It didn’t help that I grew up in a toxic and chaotic home torn apart by alcohol and anger, storms that left me running for cover and sitting quietly as I waited for them to pass. Those feelings (and that hair) followed me into adulthood, marriage, motherhood, and beyond.

The one thing I could rely on was a harsh and internalized critic who, like a toxic cheerleader in a zero sum game, shouting, Rah-rah! perfection or bust! So in my 20s, I committed to backbreaking workout schedules and and zero-tolerance policy for indulgence. I figured the best thing was to be mythically thin and quiet so that I wouldn’t embarrass myself, and I tiptoed thusly into middle age.

It wasn’t until my mid 40s that I was able to climb out from under this emotional landslide—which I did by finding a therapist who helped me understand my value and belief systems and embrace the gifts I once deemed “not enough.” Doing this work, I came to understand that peace, joy, and serenity do not come from what surrounds me, they grow from within me. For the first time, I began to feel purpose and experience a genuine connection to others from a place of trust. I was determined to break the cycle of dysfunction and reconnect with my authentic self.

Given how much time and effort I’d put into fitness, it made sense for me to become a personal trainer. The women who hired me believed they needed to: lose weight, train for a marathon, look perfect for their wedding day (or every day). What I learned was that while those women had tangible goals, what they wanted wasn’t tangible at all: They wanted to feel they had “it”—they wanted to feel confident, good, lovable, and attractive in their own skin, instead of cowering inside of it.

As they trained and got stronger, that strength and sense of achievement and self love didn’t end at the gym, but grew in all areas of their lives, from work to friendships to romantic partnerships.

My experience as a trainer was the catalyst to becoming a life coach for women who, like me years ago, have yet to experience the full spectrum of their strength and potential. I bring not only my years of coaching to bear, but also degrees in psychology, elementary education, and certifications in medical exercise and coaching from American Council on Exercises (ACE) and JRNI Coaching Intensive. I live in Kansas City, Missouri with my husband tending our empty nest while Paul pursues college, and doting over Lucy, our lab shepherd mix.

What women are saying…

Pam

I've worked with Kate for years and her coaching has changed my life. I've learned how to set boundaries and approach difficult situations with conviction and kindness. Whenever I'm dealing with a painful or difficult issue, I schedule time with Kate. She listens intently and shares perspectives and insights that open my mind. Kate has an extraordinary ability to get right to the heart of problems and always walks me through conversations where I feel understood and discover for myself the best ways to forward with peace and confidence.

“I can't tell you how much I loved participating in Katie's Flirting with Potential! It was a remarkable 1-week experience. With her depth and breadth of knowledge, Katie leads the group with understanding, compassion and amazing insight. She encouraged us to explore and acknowledge(!) our inner strengths and start talking back to those little voices in our heads. Each day an email delivered new queries on our journeys to self-awareness and fulfillment. Group sessions cultivated ideas to ponder and inspiration to move beyond our current states. There were many opportunities to share, respond, receive feedback and reflect. Working with Katie and being a part of a group dynamic has empowered me to not be afraid to ask for what I need, how to be kind (not just nice) and to enact and plan for the future I envision. I unabashedly recommend Flirting with Potential and Kate Chaney Life Coaching and Fitness.”

KyrieWorking with Kate was such a gift and blessing. I’d struggled for years with social anxiety before finding her and I wish I found her sooner! I’d worked with so many other people, tried so many different things that by the time I got to Kate, I didn’t have very high expectations of her really being able to help me. I was wrong! She took an approach, perspective, and understanding that was different from anyone else I’d worked with. She was able to make sense out of the mess in my mind, which anyone with anxiety knows, it can get messy up there. Kate was so patient and compassionate and created a very safe and non-judgmental space for me to express myself. With that said, I really appreciated that, at times, she was also willing to challenge me and get me digging a little deeper. She has guided me through anxiety, family issues, and major life transitions. Kate has helped me gain new insight, perspective, and self-awareness that has led me to recognize my own value and self-worth. I’m so grateful for her. I highly recommend Kate as your coach!!!

“This class has helped me become a stronger, more confident person. I've learned to focus on my strengths, not my weaknesses, and how to use those traits even in difficult situations. Before, I didn't do well setting boundaries with people, but Kate shows us how and why that's so important even when it may be uncomfortable. The small class size encourages intimate conversations and I've learned by listening to others' struggles and watching their growth. Kate's gentle probing and guidance led to multiple "aha" moments for each of us. Her coaching is thought-provoking, both compassionate and passionate, and she willingly shares her own journey and the vulnerabilities that make her so relatable. Bringing in additional experts on related topics is a bonus. Every woman should take this class to rediscover their unique selves and put that lady into the world.”

“I participated a couple months ago, and it was wonderful. Along with meeting some badass women, and supporting my friend's calling (seriously, she's so insightful and a great coach), I came away with tips I can put into practice on a daily basis.”
